            Following his graduation from law school, George returned to Elizabethton and began practicing law with his father.  In 1962 after the retirement of his father, George and best friend, Rondal Cole, opened the law office of Dugger and Cole Attorneys.  They remained partners and best friends until Rondal’s death in 1996.

            George’s practice has concentrated on real estate and county government.  He served as county attorney for Carter County from 1958  - 1962 and was re-elected to the position in 1982.    There’s probably not a tract of land in Carter County that George has not researched.

            He is married to Jane Dugger.  They have two children, Mark and Kathy, who are both members of the firm.  He is an avid golfer and sports fan.
